UnitedHealthcare Presents the Girls on the Run Fall 5K to Promote Personal Fitness and Wellness Among Northern Virginia Pre-adolescent Girls

UnitedHealthcare joined forces with Girls on the Run to host a Fall 5K on November 20 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va. The run, which included approximately 3,500 participating runners and buddy runners, served to commemorate the capstone achievement of completing the 10-week Girls on the Run after-school program, which aims to inspire pre-adolescent girls in Northern Virginia to be healthy and confident. The Girls on the Run Fall 5K is a non-competitive, community-wide event in Northern Virginia that educates young girls on goal setting, success and other important values. The girls can then adopt those values throughout their lives and apply them to the everyday challenges they take on.
