11 Local Christmas Worship Services
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services with candles and carols
Many Chantilly churches are celebrating Christmas Eve with special services featuring candlelight and carols. In the true spirit of Christmas, they open their doors to all who would like to come and worship.
- Shepherd Gate Church in Chantilly will hold two Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, one at 6 p.m. and one at 9 p.m. All are invited to a reception following the service. In addition, Shepherd Gate will hold a Christmas morning service at 8 a.m.
- St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Chantilly plans to hold three Christmas Eve masses at 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and three Christmas Day services at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 noon. (Please note there will be no 5:30 p.m. mass.) On Wednesday, Dec. 29, the St. Timothy's Choir and Irish Tenor, Mark Forrest, will lead the Parish in music and readings to help celebrate the birth of Christ. All are welcome to join this prayerful evening of Lessons and Carols.
- The Dulles Community Church in South Riding (a non-denominational church) invites everyone to a festive celebration of the holiday season. Children are welcome in the main auditorium for traditional Christmas carols on this special holiday night. This service begins at 5 p.m. at Freedom High School (25450 Riding Center Drive).
- Ox Hill Baptist Church in Chantilly will be holding two Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, the first at 5 p.m, followed by a 7 p.m. service.
- New Life Christian Church, which worships at Westfield High School, will celebrate with Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. New Life Christian Church is a contemporary community, welcoming all those on a spiritual journey.
- St. Veronica's Catholic Church in Chantilly will conduct three masses on Christmas Eve. Their 5 p.m. "Mass for Travelers" will be followed by an 8 p.m. mass. At 11:30 p.m., carols will begin before the Midnight Mass. On Christmas Day, mass will be held at 9 a.m. and a children's mass will be at 11 a.m.
- An Old Fashioned Christmas Service will be celebrated at the Community Baptist Church in Chantilly at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Church will sing carols and present a reading of the Christmas Story.
- Corpus Christi Catholic Mission in Chantilly celebrates mass at Hutchinson Farm Elementary School in South Riding. They will hold three masses on Christmas Eve: 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. On Christmas Day they will celebrate two masses at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (please note there will be no 5:00 p.m. mass).
- Chantilly Bible Church in Chantilly will hold two Christmas Eve services, one at 5 p.m. and another at 6:30 p.m.
- Grace Covenant Church in Chantilly also holds two Christmas Eve services, the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m.
- Grace Fellowship Church in Chantilly plans a Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m.
