Chantilly Resident Opens Notting Hill Restaurant in Alexandria

New restaurant and bar to open at 1106 King St.

Old Town Alexandria has been waiting a long time to find out what is going into the space vacated by the beloved French Le Gaulois restaurant and the wait is over – Notting Hill, opening soon.

City permits show the space is undergoing $16,000 worth of alterations and is owned by Shoja-Maddahi Seyed Hossein of Chantilly, Va.

The stalwart wooden, Gallic door guardians are gone and the large, front window is covered by a promotional sign. The fence of the outdoor garden area is covered by a banner displaying the image of Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s “Luncheon of the Boating Party” with the announcement that the restaurant and bar Notting Hill will open soon. The garden area appears prepped for renovation.

The restaurant’s website, nottinghillrestaurant.com, is very much under construction.
