Wednesday, local parents and kids gathered in the kitchen at Alice & Louise Catering and Cooking School to make their own healthy snacks and desserts.
Nichol Alice Chancler — who runs the catering company with her sister Shelly Louise Modes — led the class, teaching the children about kitchen safety and giving the mothers tips about making the recipes in their own homes.
The class made pizza roll ups and warm broccoli and carrot salad for lunch and tye-dye vanilla cupcakes for dessert.
Alice & Louise also offers a Culinary Kids class for ages seven to 15 and classes for adults.
