Top 5: The Week Ahead in Chantilly

This week, Chantilly Patch editors highlight where you need to be and what you need to see this week.

1. Zombies at the Library? This is the week, "Warm Bodies" fans! Author Isaac Marion, best-selling author of zombie love story"Warm Bodies," will be in Chantilly this week. Friends of Kings Park Library is organizing the event to be held Wednesday from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Chantilly Regional Library, 4000 Stringfellow Road in Chantilly. The evening is geared to ages 12 to 18 and will include a teen workshop "FX...Zombies...and Pizza," scheduled beforehand, starting at 5:30 p.m. Drawings will also be held for door prizes. 2. Super Sleuths History Camp. Are the kids starting to say there's nothing to do this summer? Sign up this week for Sully Historic Site's camp geared to kids ages 6 to 11 that begins next Monday, July 29, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit the Web site.

3. Redskins Fan? The Washington Redskins begin training camp in Richmond this week. If you've always wanted to watch the team before the first game, now's your chance. Here's all the scoop on the training center fan schedule if you want to try to go see the team in Richmond. Go Redskins!

4. Musicians. The State Fair of Virginia is seeking local music acts to play during the 10-day fair, which begins Sept. 27. There is no charge to perform and performers are not paid. 5. Performance Art. Looking to do something artsy this week? Stop by the Capital Fringe Festival showcasing exploratory and contemporary performances. It’s going on now and runs through July 28. The festival is being held in a variety of venues in Washington, DC ranging from the Goethe Institute on 7th St., NW to Studio Theatre on 14th St., NW.
