Weekend Planner: Lego Bricks, Movies Under the Stars and 4-H Fun

Busy weekend of "classic" events for everyone.


Where/When?
on Friday, Aug. 5 (10 a.m.-2 p.m., then 5 p.m -10 p.m), Saturday,  Aug. 6 (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and Sunday, Aug. 7 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
Why Go?
The 63rd Annual Fairfax County 4-H Fair salutes the young farmers among us – they raise animals, grow food and other projects and bring them to Frying Pan Farm Park for display (and judging). Alongside the 4-H Fair is a huge old-fashioned carnival with rides and games and other entertainment.
Pricing?
Admission to the 4-H Fair is free, though a donation to support 4-H is welcome. Rides and games require tickets or a ride bracelet can be purchased for $20.  Parking is $5.


Where/When?  
(the amphitheatre behind the Walney Visitors Center) on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m.
Why Go?
Dino-Rock presents a “musical fossil fantasy” that get everybody singing and dancing and wanting more Dino-Rock.

Where/When? 
 5075 Trinity Parkway (Centreville) on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m; movie starts at approximately 8 p.m.
Why Go? 
Get ready for another season of Starlight Drive-in Cinema, brought to you by Fairfax County’s Sully District and a generous group of community supporters. The evening begins with an outdoor pre-movie program - music, food and children's activities. Then, at dark, the movies will start. This week's movie is Despicable Me. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. Feel free to bring a picnic, blanket and chairs and enjoy the movies.

Admission is free.

  on Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go?
 Legos. Lots and lots of Legos. Really impressive Lego constructions. Mostly to look at, but they make a whole area available to make your own creations as well. Not to be missed: BrickFilms, created using either stop-motion or are digitally created in a computer.

 $10 adults, $7 children, $30 family of four

 on Monday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.
Why Go? 
You (and your family) will be amazed as ringmaster Harold Wood becomes the circus before your very eyes. A fun night out for the whole family.
