Three men apparently quarreled over an unknown incident in a home on Travers Court in Chantilly, according to Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Shelley Broderick.

Police received the call to the town home at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday.

At the time, it was unclear what weapons were used in the incident that sent the three men to the hospital, and initial reports said the three suffered from gunshot wounds. Fairfax County Police Department officials later said the incident was a stabbing.

Witnesses saw two small children being led away from the scene by a police woman to meet parents or guardians.

Neighbors and police milled about outside the town house community Tuesday under broiling heat in the 90s after ambulances took the injured away.

Police are continuing their investigation.
