Bikram Yoga Opening Studio in Centreville

Online announcements by business call for opening in the spring.

Bikram Yoga Centreville will open in Centreville at 5673 Stone Road, Suite A in the spring, according to announcements by the business on its website, Twitter account and Facebook page.

Bikram (pronounced BEEK-rum) Yoga currently has seven studios in Northern Virginia, in Ashburn, Reston, Fairfax, Tysons, Falls Church, Alexandria and Arlington.

Bikram Yoga is a type of hatha yoga characterized by a set series of postures and breathing exercises, performed in a very hot room. It gets its name from yoga guru Bikram Choudhury, 65.

"It's about to get hot in Centreville," the Centreville Web site says. Classes are usually conducted in heated rooms with temperatures set from between 105-110 degrees and 40 percent humidity to allow muscles to loosen up and stretch.

Judging from the comments on Facebook, the studio is likely to be popular with local residents:

Just saw this and I am SO excited! Never thought I'd see Bikram in Centreville .... I'll be able to walk to class! Thank you!! :)

Finally, I don't have to drive all the way to Reston or Fairfax. Can't wait for the first class.

So far, the Facebook page has 214 "likes."

Bikram Yoga is very beneficial especially for the people who want to lose weight within a short period of time. Hopefully the newly established Bikram Yoga studio in Centreville will achieve its goal. Nayeema Akter www.anamayaresort.com

I am not surprised that folks are exited to have a Hot Yoga place in Centreville. Right now there is only one Yoga place "Dahn Yoga" (which is not Hot Yoga) in Centreville and a few others within 8 miles and in the Zip code 20120. Good luck to you folks and hope you see plenty of success. And don't forget to submit your Yoga Classes on http://ClassesForYoga.com Kiran

This is so great to hear. I used to do yoga everyday but have become lax in my yoga as parenthood has become more demanding. I would love to get back into yoga again. I wonder if there are any studios opening near where i live. George Puzo | http://www.georgetownveterinaryhospital.com
