UPDATE: Walmart is Coming to Chantilly

Walmart is moving into the north hall of the Dulles Expo Center.

Update: 1:48 p.m.

Bill Wertz, Walmart's media director for the east, said that the company is still in the earliest planning stages and there is no projected opening date at this time.  Walmart plans to renovate the building, but it hasn't received any permits yet.

Wertz estimated that the new store will provide 200-300 new jobs to the community.  It will span 110,000 square feet, plus 5,000 square feet for a garden center.  Wertz added that the new Walmart will be a full-service store with bakery, deli, produce and electronic sections.  He also said that the company expects to have a Subway tenant inside the store.
