Chantilly Academy GymStars do well at the Virginia USA Gymnastics State Championship Meet

During the weekend of March 23-24, gymnasts from Chantilly Academy GymStars Gymnastics competed in the Virginia USA Gymnastics Level 8, 9, and 10 State Championships in Virginia Beach.  The team brought home four State Champion titles, including an All-Around State Champion, and three gymnasts qualified to compete at the Region 7 Championships for their levels to

Three gymnasts from the Chantilly Academy GymStars Level 9s garnered honors at the State Championship Meet, including State Champion.  Alexa Giovanis of Sterling claimed 2nd on vault and State Champion on beam, floor exercise and all-around for the 18 & Older group.  Kelsey O’Connor of Chantilly was the State Champion on uneven bars, and took 2nd on floor exercise and All-Around in the 17 year-old group.  Megan Riedel of Centreville took 3rd place on uneven bars in the 18 & Older group.  Giovanis and O’Connor qualified to compete in the Level 9 Region 7 Championship Meet to be held on April 13-14 in Ursinus, PA.  Olivia Norman of Herndon, the youngest Level 9 team member, was a first time state qualifier to the Level 9 VA State Championships.
