Fourth Annual Chantilly Academy GymStars Cartwheel-A-Thon

The Chantilly Academy Gymnastics GymStars will be holding their fourth annual Cartwheel-A-Thon at their gym on September 21st in conjunction with USA Gymnastics National Gymnastics Day.  Fifty percent of the proceeds raised by the GymStars will go to the Children’s Miracle Network through USA Gymnastics.  The other fifty percent helps support the GymStars travel to meets. Last year the GymStars raised over $3,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network.  They were joined by other gymnasts at the gym, who brought in additional donations of which 100% raised went to Children’s Miracle Network.  Chantilly Academy GymStars competitive team represent their cities, counties and state throughout the country at state, regional and national competitions with pride.

In addition to the Cartwheel-A-Thon, the gymnasts will also participate in “Turn the World Upside Down,” where gymnasts all over the country will be trying to break the WORLD RECORD for turning the world upside down together (in a handstand, headstand, cartwheels, flips) at 1:00 p.m. local.  Last year, over 43,000 gymnasts across the country across the US went upside down at the same time, over twice as many as in the 2011 most handstands world record attempt.

Each year, USA Gymnastics celebrates National Gymnastics Day to build awareness of the sport and support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.  Money raised will benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in each club's local community. Since 2001, gymnastics clubs across the country have raised more than $1.8 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Come join the GymStars at Chantilly Academy Gymnastics on Saturday, September 21st as they cartwheel for a cause!
