Heading out of town this holiday season via Washington Dulles International Airport? Stop and check out the holiday trees decorated by Chantilly area students near the ticketing level of the main terminal.
Students from Chantilly's J. Michael Lunsford Middle School decked the halls as did students from the special education program at Chantilly High School, decorating trees Wednesday at Dulles.
Each year, Dulles selects students in Chantilly High's program to work as interns in various departments around the airport.
Schoolchildren from the District of Columbia, Maryland and other schools in Virginia also decorated trees with “Home for the Holidays” theme-related ornaments. The trees will be on display for passengers and visitors to enjoy during the month of December.
Last year, more than 250 students from local schools participated in the “Celebrate the Holidays on Candy Lane”-themed tree-trimming at both Dulles and Reagan National Airport.
