Snow Possible Sunday Night in Northern Virginia

Forecasters say area could see "nothing to 2 inches of snow for west of I-95; nothing to 1 inch east of I-95."

The calendar officially says spring but Northern Virginia could be in for a few snow flakes Sunday night, according to area forecasters.

Here's a roundup of what some local weather forecasters are saying about our potential for snow Sunday evening into Monday morning:

Capital Weather Gang: "In the pre-dawn hours, there’s a 40-50% chance a heavier band of snow comes through capable of whitening the grass from D.C./I-95 to the east, and putting down an inch or so of snow west of D.C./I-95 mainly on grass but with some slick spots possible."

Will the snow or sleet push the cherry blossom bloom dates back even further? We'll keep an eye on the National Park Service predictions. As of Sunday, the peak bloom predictions were still April 3-6 for the blossoms circling the Tidal Basin in D.C.
