Sunday Planner: Flea Market, Space Center, Movies, Bowling, Swimming, Shopping

Lots to do on Sunday!

The weekend's not over yet! Sunday events abound. We found a few events around the area we think you'll enjoy:

  • DC Big Flea Market Love hunting for treasures? Than this event is for you: D.C. Big Flea Market takes places at the Dulles Expo South Hall. You'll find period and country furniture, collectibles at every price point, jewelry, glassware, silver, primitives and porcelain. Call (757) 430-4735 for more information. Admission is $8.
  • Fancy Cats Rescue Adoption Event: FancyCats Rescue is having an adoption event every Sunday at the Springfield PetsMart. Find a furry friend to take home forever! (Try the PetsMart in Chantilly; we couldn't find anything on their calendar.)
  • Woodlawn Needlework Exhibition: Starts today Friday and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Woodlawn Plantation in Mount Vernon, with continuing exhibition Wednesday through Monday, ending on March 31. Daily admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students through grade 12, and free for children ages five and under. Friends of Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House are admitted free.
  • The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is located in Chantilly, south of Washington Dulles International Airport. Tickets for Imax films may be purchased online or from any Smithsonian theater box office. Jack the Giant Slayer is playing at the theater.
