A NOVEL WINE TASTING; Fundraiser for Gum Spring Library Free Educational Programs

     Ellen Crosby, the popular author of a series  of six mystery novels set in the Virginia Wine Country, will be the featured
guest at “Mystery & Masquerade: A

Novel Wine Tasting,” an elegant evening fundraiser on October 26, hosted by the Friends of the Gum Spring Library
(“FROGS”) to benefit the educational initiatives of the library.  Ms. Crosby will autograph copies of her book

and discuss her work including her latest novel “MULTIPLE EXPOSURE:  A

Sophie Medina Mystery,” which was just released in August.

     The fundraiser will be held from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  In addition to the presentation and book

signing by Ms. Crosby, the event will include tastings from Cana and Willowcroft wineries, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music and a fashion show of upcoming holiday styles by the Chantilly store of national retailer Stein Mart. There will also be a silent auction of great value items such as a stay at the new Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia. The FROGS are still

     The Gum Spring Library, which is also the site of the event, is located

event space.

     Ellen Crosby is the author of six books in the

Virginia wine country mystery series: The Sauvignon Secret, The Viognier

and The Merlot Murders. She also wrote Moscow Nights, a

stand-alone novel published in London. A former freelance reporter for The

     The Friends of the Gum Spring Library is a

volunteer 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation that advocates for, and provides

funding support for the community programs of the Gum Spring Public Library. Some

of these programs include 123 Math &

Science
, Social Studies & Me,

Children’s Storytime, the Summer Reading Program, and Book Clubs for children, youth, and

adults. The Friends also provides several monetary awards to local high school

seniors to help them with college expenses. In addition to the Novel Wine

Tasting, which the Friends hopes to make an annual event, the group conducts various
