Aldie Family Holds 4th Annual
Golf for Gracie Event

Fundraiser
Benefits 3-Year-Old Brain Tumor Survivor

The 4th Annual Golf for Gracie Event will be held Friday, September
20, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Golf Club, 4715 Pleasant Valley Road, Chantilly,
Virginia.  Golf for Gracie is a
fundraiser for Gracie Sweet, a 3-year-old brain tumor survivor.  The event includes a golf tournament and
auction.  All donations are put toward
Gracie’s medical bills and special needs as she and her parents continue to
improve her health.  Registration is $135
per golfer ($540 per foursome).  To
register or for more information, visit www.sweetgracie.net or contact PJ Sweet, 703-944-4250; Sara Sweet, 571-426-1642; golfforgracie@hotmail.com.

Gracie Sweet is the
youngest member of the Sweet family of Aldie, Virginia, daughter of Sara &
PJ Sweet, and a brain tumor survivor.  In
June 2010, when Gracie was just 7 months old, doctors discovered she had an
inoperable brain tumor classified as an optic pathway glioma.  A short time later, doctors discovered she
also had a grade 2 astrocytoma.  Now 3,
Gracie’s team of doctors has treated her with different forms of chemotherapy
in hopes of inhibiting the growth of these tumors.  Earlier this year, it was decided that
Gracie’s treatment plan was no long favorable and that the next option would be
to enroll her in a new clinical trial for MEK Inhibitor, a treatment her
doctors believe is promising for her particular health situation.

“Though Gracie has
faced many challenges, including side effects from her medications, our little
girl is resilient,” says Sara Sweet.  “We
remain positive, focusing on the small victories we have achieved with her
health every day.”

Money donated
through Golf for Gracie provides support for Gracie to continue to receive
medical care from the top doctors in the country.  PJ Sweet shares, “The kindness and support
our family has received is something you cannot fully understand until you are
actually going through it, but we could not do this on our own and it does make
it easier to deal with emotionally.  Gracie
does not understand fully either, but one day we will be able to explain to her
how we weathered this storm with the help of all of you.”
