Enough with the Tea Party and Jim LeMunyon!

With the #teapartyshutdown all over the news and twitterverse, here’s a topical tweet for you: “on my way to a #teaparty rally in #rva – don’t forget to rsvp for oktoberfest!” - @JimLeMunyon

The most worrisome thing about that tweet is not its grammar; it’s that Delegate Jim LeMunyon’s ties to the Tea Party go far beyond promoting their events through social media.

Jim Lemunyon is the darling of the Virginia Tea-Party group, Middle Resolution PAC, which has given him $118,000, more than any other Virginia candidate. In return, he’s sponsored extreme Tea-Party initiatives in the General Assembly like a bill to allow states to nullify federal laws, and he has pushed for a constitutional convention.
