Dulles South Station Police Report: Child Neglect, Church Burglaries

A summary of incidents reported for June 8-15.

There was one brandishing incident, four burglaries, one incident of child neglect, one destruction of property incident, three larcenies, one missile at a vehicle incident and one motorcycle accident included in the Dulles South Station Daily Crime Reports for the week ending on June 15.  

Brandishing 

  • The complainant reported he was driving in the area of Gum Spring Road and Braddock Road around 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10 when a red pickup truck began tailgating his vehicle. As the two vehicles approached a red traffic signal the driver of the pickup exited his vehicle and approached the driver’s door of the complainant. The complainant believed the subject was brandishing a firearm. The complainant drove away when the traffic signal turned green. The subject was described as a White male in his 40s and was wearing a sleeveless shirt, shorts and a khaki hat.  

Burglary

  • Unknown subject(s) entered a residence on the 27100 block of Post Time Court by damaging a basement door between 9:20 a.m. and 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 9. Inside cash was removed. Nothing else was reported missing. 
  • Deputies responded to the 43800 block of Paramount Place at 3:40 a.m. on Friday, June 10 after a resident heard their garage door open. Two subjects were located in the area. Alicia E. Johnson, 30, of Woodbridge was charged with larceny and driving on a suspended license. The incident remains under investigation.   • Unknown subject(s) damaged the glass from the door of the AT&T store on the 43000 block of Peacock Market Plaza between 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 12 and 6:47 a.m. on Monday, June 13. Cash and numerous cell phones were removed. The case is being investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. 
  • Unknown subject(s) entered the Arcola Methodist Church on the 24700 block of Evergreen Mills Road and removed a laptop, two televisions and other electronics between 2:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13. The case is being investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. 

Child Neglect 

  • Around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8 Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Prince William Hospital regarding a one-year-old child that had been left in a vehicle earlier in the day in Loudoun County. The father of the child apparently inadvertently left the child in the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes while attending an event with his other two children. The child was determined to be in good health. The incident remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services.  

Destruction of Property

  • Unknown subject(s) spray painted graffiti on a wooden fence on the 43100 block of Unison Knoll Circle between 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8 and 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 13.  

Larceny

  • Unknown subject(s) entered a vehicle on the 43000 block of Barons Street between 10 p.m. on Friday, June 10 and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 and removed a laptop, a tablet, and a GPS unit. 
  • A work van on the 22500 block of Lost Creek Terrace was entered by damaging a door lock between 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13. A video game system was removed.   • Unknown subject(s) removed a box containing a recently purchased shed from the property of the Worship Center Assembly of God on the 19200 block of Gleedsville Road between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13. The case is being investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.  

Missile at a Vehicle 

  • Eggs were thrown by occupants of a black Ford Explorer at a second vehicle as they were both traveling in the area of Braddock Road and Loudoun County Parkway between 10:10 p.m. and 11:03 p.m. on Thursday, June 9.  

Motorcycle Accident 

  • A 52-year-old Herndon, VA man was riding a 2004 motorcycle south on Route 15 when he crashed into the back of a 2002 Lexus RX350 being operated by a 19-year-old female from Castleton, VA at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 12. The Lexus was reportedly slowing down due to slowing traffic. The impact threw the rider off of the motorcycle. The 52-year-old was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for life-threatening injuries where he remains in critical condition (as of 06/12/11). The rider was wearing a helmet. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Route 15 was closed just south of Route 50 for approximately one hour.
