Dulles South Station Police Report: Multiple Incidents of Vehicle Theft, Trespassing in Ashburn

A summary of incidents reported for Jan. 8-14.

 

There was one auto crash, one burglary, one destruction of property incident, three larcenies and one incident of vehicle trespassing included in the Dulles South Station Daily Crime Reports for the week ending on Jan. 14. 

Auto Crash

  • Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Evergreen Mills Road (Route 621) at The Woods Road at 10:05 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 for a report of two vehicles involved in a collision. Investigation into the incident revealed that an 18-year-old from Chantilly was operating a 2004 Kia Optima westbound on Route 621 when the driver crossed the center of the roadway into the oncoming lane and struck an eastbound 2009 Honda Pilot driven by a 22-year-old female from Leesburg. An infant passenger in the Honda was in a properly installed child restraint in the vehicle. The infant was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital, Lansdowne Campus for evaluation. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and the airbags did deploy. Both were flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where they remain in stable, but critical condition. The crash remains under investigation, pending consultation with the Loudoun Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.  

Burglary 

  • Around 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, unknown subject(s) entered a barn on the 41600 block of John Mosby Highway and removed construction equipment. [Author’s Note: The Loudoun County Office of the Sheriff also listed this incident in the category of Unlawful Entry.] 

Destruction of Property

  • Between 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 and 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, unknown subject(s) vandalized several pieces of construction equipment in the area of Destiny Drive and Green Mountain Drive. 

Larcenies 

  • Two residents of the 42400 block of Holly Knoll Court reported unknown subject(s) entered their unlocked vehicles between 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11. An MP3 player was removed from one vehicle. 
  • Between 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1 and 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, unknown subject(s) removed cable from a construction site on the 23000 block of Broadrun Meadow Circle. 
  • Between 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11 and 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, unknown subject(s) removed building materials from a construction site on the 43400 block of Hopestone Terrace. 

Vehicle Trespassing

  • Two residents of the 42400 block of Belmont Glen Place reported that it appeared unknown subject(s) rummaged through their vehicles between 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Nothing was reported missing.
