Dulles South Station Police Report: South Riding Hardware Store Robbed

A summary of incidents reported for Jan. 15-21.

 

There were three larcenies and one suspicious event included in the Dulles South Station Daily Crime Reports for the week ending on Jan. 21.  

Larcenies

  • An unknown subject removed copper wire from a hardware store on the 25000 block of Riding Plaza just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15. The suspect’s vehicle is described as an older model tan or gold Nissan. The suspect was described as a White male, wearing a tan jacket and a black cap. He was described as being in his 40’s, with a heavy to muscular build. 
  • Between 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 and 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, unknown subject(s) damaged a lock on a trailer located on a construction site in the area of Carnegie Place and Croson Lane. Power tools and other items were removed. 
  • Between 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and 11:57 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, unknown subject(s) removed metal panels from a construction site on the 23300 block of Minerva Drive. 

Suspicious Event

  • A resident of the 42400 block of Belmont Glen Place received a call between 12:50 p.m. and 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from an unknown subject who claimed the resident had won a large sum of money. The caller stated that to receive the prize money, the resident needed to wire money to a bank. The resident believed the call was an attempted scam and ended the phone call.
