Dulles South Station Police Report: Teen Maliciously Wounded in Aldie, Maryland Man Causes Serious Crash on Route 50 and Middle School Students Caught Drinking on School Grounds

A summary of incidents reported for Jan. 1-7.

 

There was one auto crash, one destruction of property incident, one larceny, one liquor violation and one robbery included in the Dulles South Station Daily Crime Reports for the week ending on Jan. 7. 

Auto Crash

  • Route 50 eastbound near Elk Lick Road was closed for approximately 1 ½ hours around 7 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5 due to a serious crash involving a Ford F350 pickup truck pulling a tractor on a trailer and a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 FT. The investigation revealed the truck was at a stop sign waiting to turn onto Route 50. The driver pulled out into the roadway in front of the Mitsubishi. The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 64-year-old Aldie man, struck the trailer portion of the vehicle. He was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with what are reported to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup, a 40-year-old man from Maryland, was not injured in the crash. He was charged with failure to yield the right of way.  

Destruction of Property 

  • Between 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2 and 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, unknown subject(s) damaged two mailboxes in the area of the 43500 block of Mechanicsville Glen Street. 

Larceny

  • Between 12:01 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, unknown subject(s) removed concrete forms from a home under construction on the 25400 block of Atrium Village Court.  

Liquor Violation 

  • A Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer and Loudoun County Public Schools personnel attended to six students discovered under the influence of alcohol at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5. . The students apparently consumed the alcohol at the school just prior to the start of the school day. The incident came to light after one of the students arrived in the school’s clinic reporting they were sick. School personnel notified the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to the school. The matter remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Unit. Click here to view the full press release. 

Robbery

  • A parent of a 17-year-old victim reported that their son was assaulted by an unknown subject in the area of the Village Center Plaza at 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3. The victim received lacerations from a sharp object. It was later determined the incident occurred on the 24600 block of Siltstone Square and involved subjects known to the victim. The victim was taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The case is pending.
