Dulles South Station Weekly Police Report

A summary of incidents reported for May 12-18.

For the week ending on May 18, there was one attempted burglary, two destruction of property incidents, three larcenies, one recovered stolen auto and one suspicious event reported in the Dulles South Station district. 

Attempted Burglary 

  • A resident reported hearing unknown subjects in their residence on the 42200 block of Black Rock Terrace at 1:13 a.m. on Sunday, May 15. The resident later observed a shadow outside of their window. A window was found slightly ajar. No entry was made into the residence. 

Destruction of Property

  • Unknown subject(s) damaged the windows of two construction vehicles near Cedar Ridge Boulevard and Gum Spring Road between 5 p.m. on Friday, May 13 and 7 a.m. on Monday, May 16.
  • Unknown subject(s) damaged two tires of a vehicle on the 25100 block of Pennywort Terrace between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 19.  

Larceny 

  • Unknown subject(s) removed a mountain bike from an open garage on the 42700 block of Gelding Square between 9 p.m. on Friday, May 13 and 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 15. 
  • Unknown subject(s) entered an open garage and removed a girl’s bicycle on the 42500 block of Legacy Park Drive between 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13 and 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 14. The bicycle is described as pink and gray with a pink horn and a purple bell. 
  • Unknown subject(s) removed miscellaneous coins from a vehicle on the 24000 block of Whitten Farm Court between 7 p.m. on Monday, May 16 and 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17. 

Recovered Stolen Auto

  • A vehicle reported stolen from the Warrenton area was located on the 25300 block of Shipley Terrace at 9:25 p.m. on Sunday, May 15.  

Suspicious Event 

  • Two juvenile females were standing outside of a residence on the 26000 block of Rachel Hill Drive around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 when they observed a suspicious white van approach the home. A passenger exited the van. No contact was made between the occupants of the van and the juveniles. The juveniles went inside their home and notified a parent of the suspicious vehicle. Several vans of a similar description were located in the immediate area and were doing work at area homes.
