Police: Man, 55, Assaulted After Trying to Stop Fight

Police say that a 55-year-old man stopped his car to stop two groups of teenagers from fighting, only to have them turn their attention to him.

The incident took place at 4:15 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Spring Pond Road and Sunset Ridge Road in the Centreville area, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police said that the teens struck the man several times before he was able to get away. The victim reported minor injuries.
