Sully District Police Report: BB&T Bank Robbed, Laptops Stolen From Business

A summary of incidents reported for June 16-22.

For the week ending on June 22, there were two major incidents, nine larcenies, and two vehicle thefts included in the Sully District Activity Report.  

Major Incidents 

  • *BANK ROBBERY IN CENTREVILLE AREA: Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday, June 16. At 4:30 p.m. a man entered the BB&T Bank at 5700 Union Mill Road and demanded money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, heavyset, with a ponytail and facial hair. This is in western Fairfax County this month. 
  • COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Officers responded to a business park for an alarm activation around 2:42 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22. They located a smashed window and a door with forced entry at the Macheaven business, located at 4500 Daly Drive, suite 300. It appears 25 to 30 laptop computers were stolen.

  • 6800 block of Drifton Court: Radio stolen from vehicle
  • 14000 block of Grumble Jones Court: GPS unit stolen from vehicle
  • 4100 block of Lees Corner Road: Cash stolen from residence
  • 6000 block of McAlester Way: Bicycle stolen from residence
  • 13500 block of South Springs Drive: Handgun and GPS unit stolen from vehicle
  • 6200 block of Summer Pond Drive: Bicycle stolen from residence
  • Intersection of Union Village Circle and Forest Run Drive: Trimmer stolen from vehicle
  • 5500 block of Village Center Drive: Reading glasses stolen from vehicle
  • 15400 block of Waters Creek Drive: Wallet stolen from vehicle 

Vehicle Thefts 

  • 4900 block of Stonecroft Boulevard: 1994 trailer
  • 14400 block of Woodmere Court: 2006 Hyundai Elantra
