Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Donates $2K to American Cancer Society

 

The Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department presented a $2,000 check to The State President of the American Cancer Society on Monday, Jan. 30 at Fire Station 40. 

The firefighters wore pink shirts for a week in October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The shirts were sold to individual firefighters and their families resulting in $2,000 in donations. Michael Holt with United Health Care, Local 2068, the Progressive Firefighters of Fairfax County, and the firefighters' union assisted with the purchase of the pink shirts.
