Washington Post: Chantilly Student Health Records Stolen

Parents were notified Monday that their children's health records were stolen.

The health records of thousands of Chantilly students have been stolen, according to a report by the Washington Post.

Parents of students at several Chantilly schools that are a part of the Fairfax County Public Schools system were notified Monday about the incident.

A school nurse reported that a laptop and briefcase containing the information were stolen from her car July 15, the newspaper reported.

The schools involved are Chantilly High School, Chantilly Academy, Brookfield Elementary, Rocky Run Middle School, Navy Elementary School, Lanier Middle School and Fairfax Villa Elementary.

The story noted that student names and medical information were listed but not Social Security numbers or addresses.
