VIDEO: FEMA Testing Alert System Today
Emergency management system to test alert system Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is testing its emergency alert system at 2 p.m. Wednesday on every radio and television station in the country, including Alaska, Hawaii, the territories of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa.
The test is only 30 seconds long. On the radio, you'll hear that it's just a test. On television, you'll see a crawl that tells you it's a test.
FEMA wants you to know - and to tell your friends, relatives and neighbors so they are not alarmed when they hear the test.Β
