Greenway Tolls, Rt. 7 Interchange on Board Agenda

Supervisors will also consider organizational matters, including the election of the board's vice chairman

Members of the Loudoun Board of Supervisors have a heavy agenda planned for its Wednesday business meeting from organizational matters and electing a chairman to opposing Greenway toll hikes and resolving a dispute about the Route 7/Ashburn Village Boulevard Interchange.

Election of Vice Chairman – Since Supervisor Janet Clarke (R-Blue Ridge) announced in December that she would not seek a second term as vice chairman this year, the board must elect someone else who will perform the chairman’s duties in his absence.

Ashburn Center North – Latisys-Ashburn North LLC, of Englewood, CO, has submitted special exception requests to permit data center uses on 11 acres east of Ashburn Village Boulevard and north of Redrum Drive.

Ashburn Village/Route 7 Interchange – A years-long dispute over construction of the Ashburn Village Boulevard/Route 7 interchange could come closer to an end as supervisors consider paying a portion of a necessary redesign. Developer Miller & Smith agreed to build the interchange when One Loudoun was approved because the interchange near that development (Loudoun County Parkway/Route 7) had already been planned for construction by the county.

Greenway Tolls – Supervisors Shawn Williams (R-Broad Run) and Ralph Buona (R-Ashburn) are asking the board to support a letter to the State Corporation Commission opposing a toll hike request by the owners of the Dulles Greenway, Toll Road Investors Partnership, a subsidiary of Australia-based Macquarie Group.
