Several Locals Pegged to Serve on McAuliffe's 'Transition Team'

Among them are Fairfax County Chair Sharon Bulova, the president of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, and several more from the area.

Governor-Elect Terry McAuliffe announced Thursday a list of officials, businesspeople and organization heads from across the Commonwealth that will serve on his transition team.

Nearly half of which hail from Northern Virginia, including several from right here in Fairfax County.

Among them are Fairfax County Chairman Sharon Bulova; President and CEO of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Jim Corcoran; the President Emeritus of James Madison University, Linwood Rose; the President of Northern Virginia Community College, Robert Templin Jr.; and more.

Dubbed the "Common Ground for Virginia" committee, McAuliffe said "the bipartisan group of Virginians from all regions of the Commonwealth" will work with him over the next two months "to build the foundation for a successful administration."

"I am honored to work with this bipartisan group of leaders representing a variety of backgrounds, political persuasions and regions across the Commonwealth to build a strong and diverse administration that will help me bring Virginians together to grow our economy," the governor-elect said in a statement Thursday.

"The challenges we face require leaders who will put old battles aside and find common ground to move us forward together," McAuliffe continued. "I have no doubt that this transition committee will help me build an administration that is ready to hit the ground running on the issues that matter most to Virginia families.”

The committee will work out of McAuliffe's "transition offices," currently located at Old City Hall in Richmond.

The full committee will consist of:
