PHOTOS: Bilderberg Protests Continue at Westfields Marriott

Security at the hotel increases for the top secret Bilderberg meeting.

Demonstrators began to gather outside the Thursday to the annual . The crowd continued to grow today, and police prescence increased as well.

A Patch reader reported that the Route 28 exit off of I-66 was blocked off by police on motorcycles for a short period of time around 10 a.m. this morning making her drive to work difficult. However, Lt. Trace with the Fairfax County Police said in an email that it had "nothing to do with this conference."

Another Patch reader said in an email at 3:30 p.m. that police were "standing in the middle of the road making traffic a nightmare" outside of the hotel entrance.ย

The Washington Times is reporting that a half-mile security perimeter has been set up around in anticipation of , which begins Thursday.

at the covert annual meeting through the weekend. According to the Washington Times, all hotel guests who are not involved with Bilderberg have been asked to leave, and law enforcement is prepared to arrest anybody who comes near the hotel.

Bilderberg is an annual, invitation-only conference drawing about 130 people from North America and Europe, including politicians, government officials and people from financial and other industries. The conference is named for the hotel at which it started, the Hotel de Bilderberg in the Netherlands in the 1950s.
