Original: Fairfax County is home to some of the best high schools in the country — not the least being Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, which was ranked no. 2 in the country by U.S. News earlier this year.

But there’s more to great high schools than national magazine rankings. Awesome teachers, school spirit and myriad other factors count.

So you tell us -- which high school in Fairfax County is the best? Only one can be crowned the Patch Readers’ Choice Best High School.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a high school is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the one you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all high schools in the county to our poll and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.
