Sneak Peek: Starbucks Verismo

I was lucky enough to snag a private invite to the Starbucks suite at the BlogHer Conference in NYC over the weekend! Starbucks was hosting a demo of the new Starbucks Verismo coffee/espresso machine that will be launched later this year.

I met with the team to get a hands-on feel for the new product. I must say - it rocks! I am a huge Starbucks fan and to be able to make more than just a cup of coffee at home is amazing. Aside from the coffee "pods," Starbucks is offering milk and espresso pods so that you can customize your beverage at home. Latte anyone?

The genius behind the Verismo is the pressure the machine uses to create the drinks. Espresso at home is no easy challenge. But with the Verismo, there is a little "trick" that adjusts how many bars of pressure are used for the espresso v. coffee pods. This way, you won't end up with a beverage that tastes like yesterday's bottom brew.

I asked the Starbucks team if they would be bringing out more than just coffee, espresso, and milk. I want flavors -- especially the Pumpkin Spice Latte in the fall! I can't quite quote their response, but I'm pretty sure the feeling was mutual!

I've already put this item on my holiday shopping list "for him."
