Chantilly Boys Take Win Over West Springfield, Lee

By Rusty Payne, Special to Chantilly Patch

Despite a sluggish offensive night, the Chantilly boys basketball team gutted their way to an uneven 47-38 home victory over West Springfield Wednesday to move to 6-0 on the young season.

It wasn't always pretty to watch, but the full court pressure defense of Chantilly created turnovers and transition opportunities throughout against an undermanned West Springfield team.

DeAndre Harris had 13 points and Tyler Femi had 12 to lead Chantilly.

A night earlier, the Chargers had a much more solid performance in a 60-41 win over Lee. Chantilly was never seriously threatened and led by as many as 30 points.

Senior Brian Sydnor paced the balanced Chargers with 13 points. Juniors Mark Aanstoos and Harris each had 8.

Chantilly travels to TJ Friday night to try and make it seven straight. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.
