Chantilly Marching Band Breaks Fundraiser Record
The students raised $1,400 at their annual fundraiser last Saturday.
On Saturday, Aug. 20, the Chantilly Marching Band held it’s annual car wash at . Members of the marching band arrived armed with sponges, hoses, towels and squeegees and ultimately raised $1,400 for the marching band program.
The band could not have asked for a better day to hold the car wash. The bright sun and nice temperatures had many people out and about. With band and color guard members along Stringfellow Road near the school, there was a steady stream of cars, vans and trucks waiting to be washed. For a donation, the students washed and dried the cars while the drivers waited.
Mr. Drew Ross, Director of Bands at Chantilly High School, was pleased to see such a wonderful community turnout. The money raised during this event go toward equipment purchases and offsets some of the transportation costs, clinicians and other costs throughout the year. The first purchase has already been made - a new drum major podium.
