Glory Days Grill Becomes Title Sponsor for Charger Challenge Tournament

Glory Days Grill will partner with Chantilly High School to help host the sixth annual Charger Challenge high school golf tournament

will partner with Glory Days Grill, which recently became a title sponsor, to put on the Charger Challenge this year.

The sixth annual Charger Challenge will be held Aug. 14 at 9 a.m. at the . The Charger Challenge was started as a way to bring together public school golf programs from the area and across the state.

When the tournament was first started, only eight teams competed. The tournament this year, which was been dubbed the Glory Day Sports/Charger Challenge, will host 28 high schools and more than 140 golfers, both male and female.

Appearing at the event will be 2011 State Champions Langley High School, runner-up Chantilly High School and Deep Run High School. Individual golfers competing for the VHSL Varsity Co-Ed Individual State Championship and VHSL Girls State Open Championship will come from high schools such as , , , , , and multiple others.

“We are pleased to have Glory Day Sports and FANFARE Sports assist in continuing this great tradition of high school golf,” Kurt Sporkmann, tournament director and head golf coach, said. “We take great pride in making this one of the best tournaments in the area. This year will be no different and we are excited to give the players an opportunity to display their talents.”

The event is free and open to the public, with the requirement that spectators stay on cart paths. After the tournament, awards for Team Champion, Team Runner-up, Individual Boys Champion and Individual Girls Champion will be presented.
