Schools Budget Meeting at Centreville High Canceled—Again

The meeting was supposed to be held at Centreville High School.

A Tuesday meeting on the Fairfax County Public Schools budget is now canceled.

Elizabeth L. Schultz, representative of the Springfield District and Susan Quinn, FCPS Assistant Superintendent of Financial Services had planned to host the EarlyBudget Talk Session at Centreville High School in Clifton, but canceled it because of frigid temperatures and the closure of Fairfax County schools on Tuesday, Jan. 7, according to a notice from the school division.

This is the second time weather has forced organizers to cancel the EarlyBudget Talk Session. In December the meeting was canceled because of snow and ice.

This time, the meeting won't be rescheduled. Parents, students, school staff and residents are instead encouraged to attend a Feb. 4 Listening Tour meeting hosted by Dr. Karen Garza, superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools.  That meeting is at 7 p.m. at West Springfield High School at 6100 Rolling Rd. in Springfield.
