Chantilly Girls Soccer Ends Season With Loss To Woodson

The Cavaliers defeated the Chargers 3-0 in the Semifinals at Madison High School Wednesday night in the rain.

As Woodson forward Teresa Fruchterman leapt a fallen Chantilly defender and scored the third and final goal of the day, the Chargers knew their season had come to an end.

As the clock winded down, the Chargers and Head Coach Melissa Bibbee headed to the sidelines to talk about the end of their season and the 3-0 defeat they suffered at Madison High School.

Scattered rain showers throughout the game seemingly had no effect on either team.

Despite allowing three goals, junior goalkeeper Lauren Mashinski played a hard fought game finishing with a total of four saves.  Woodson’s relentless offensive attack throughout the game was simply too much for the Chargers though.

Junior Elizabeth Gaski and senior Erin Havard scored the other two goals for the Cavaliers in the game.

Woodson senior midfielder Danielle King was announced as the Northern Region player of the year after the game.

The victory places Woodson in the Northern Region championship game against the Mclean Highlanders Friday night at 5:30 pm at Madison High School.

The Chargers finished the season with 10 wins, 5 losses and 2 ties.

Junior Jacki Sieder lead the team in goals scored with five on the season, according to AllMetSports.

They will return a strong core of junior and sophomore midfielders and both of their junior goalkeepers, Mashinski and Annie Cecil will be back next year as well.
Chantilly seniors Jane Muir, Katie Taylor, Elizabeth Casey, Eileen Sechler and Madyson Brown concluded their careers this season.
