Dominion Power Volunteers Collect School Supplies for Needy Families

Company organized several "stuff the bucket" events across the region this weekend to help needy families prepare for school.

Volunteers from Dominion Power were out in force Friday at KMart in Chantilly to help gather school supplies to give away to those in need.

"In recognition of a tight economy and out of respect for struggling families in our region, Dominion volunteers will “Stuff the Bucket” with the help of area shoppers," the company noted in a news release.

Volunteers were on hand Friday in shopping center parking lots to accept donations of supplies or cash. Area non-profit organizations will receive the donations and prepare backpacks in time for the start of the school year.
