Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Over the course of two days, April 30-May 1, six empowered women will walk 39 miles together to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.  These women, part of the team Hikin' 4 Hooters, have been active in the fight against breast cancer for many years.  Between numerous distance walks, such as the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure, they have raised thousands upon thousands of dollars for breast cancer.

On April 15, the Hikin' 4 Hooters ladies will host a fundraising event at Backyard Grill & Bar.  A $20 donation gets you two raffle tickets and a wristband.  The wristband allows you to participate in drink specials and a free appetizer buffet all evening long.

Additional raffle tickets will be sold at the event:

  • 40,460 women and 450 men in the U.S. will die from the disease annually.
  • There are over 2 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. who have been treated for breast cancer
  • Every 3 minutes, there is a new diagnosis of invasive breast cancer
  • There are more than 250,000 women under the age of 40 in the U.S living with breast cancer, and over 11,000 will be diagnosed this year
  • A woman has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime
  • Every 13 minutes, a life is lost to breast cancer
