Buyer beware, sums it up. They are not serious businessmen and frankly we should have known better. Promises made are not kept, there is no sense of responsibility, and once the paperwork is signed expect nothing but indignation. Despite claims to the contrary their business model has nothing to do with customer satisfaction. Whatever you do, spend the money for an independent mechanic’s checkup as it will save you money in the long run. Sadly American Auto Group of Chantilly, Virginia helps reinforce the "used car salesman" stereotype of year's past. These guys just haven't gotten the word that an unhappy customer is not a repeat customer.

Worst experience ever!
American Auto Group Inc. was recommended to me by a family member whom was acquaintances with the owner. They seem very friendly but beware. Most of the cars at this dealership are some way damaged. They buy it from the auction cheap and sell it for what seems to be a good price, while in reality the car is a waste. I say this because I trusted them and bought a car for a good deal. When I took it to the dealer I found out that the car has; an engine leak, was in a front/back accident, was painted all over except the roof, had flood damage, and to top it off the car didn’t pass emissions. Overall I managed to return the car with a fee of $500, which I was told was going to be waived but again they lied. They are not professional or reliable. I would never suggests anyone to this place, if anything avoid it.

We were very unhappy with the customer service we received from Shaw at American Auto Group - especially after the purchase of the vehicle. He said he would call us multiple times and never did. He said he would do a number of things that he never did. Instead of mailing us the license plates like he said he would he had us drive all the out there and get them. They said we owed an additional $400 after we had purchased the vehicle, fortunately the paperwork was found at their office, so we didn't have to pay the extra $.
