One motorcyclist was charged, the other driver sped away from the scene Friday in Chantilly.
A Reston motorcylist was charged with reckless driving Friday night at about 7:20 p.m. at Brandy Station Road and Stringfellow Road in Chantilly. The driver, Shane Hannegan, 34, was allegedly speeding with another cyclist when a police officer attempted to make a traffic stop. The other motorcyclist did not stop and sped away, according to Fairfax County Police. In other crime news:

Larcenies: 14300 block of Chantilly Crossing Lane, cell phone from business 4200 block of Walney Road, scooter from business 4900 block of Stonecroft Boulevard, camera from residence Animal Bite: 12500 block of Sweet Leaf Terrace, Saturday, 7 p.m. A 44-year-old reported he was walking home when he passed a man and two dogs on leashes. One of the dogs bit the victim. The mix Shepherd was routinely quarantined.

Mount Vernon hosted Chantilly in Tuesday's Northern Region opener.
UPDATE (Oct. 24, 9 a.m.): The Majors defeated Chantilly in last night's game. They will face West Springfield Friday night at MVHS. Mount Vernon field hockey (15-3-1) coach Jessica Hebel watched Chantilly play (8-9-1) in the Under the Lights tournament in late August. While the two teams didn’t square off against one another, Hebel took note of Chantilly’s strengths. Silver Spring resident was one of three arrested in August for stealing $400,000 from Air & Space parking lot fees.
One of the three parking lot attendants at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum arrested for reportedly stealing $400,000 in parking fees is scheduled to enter a plea agreement to the charges this week. Former parking lot attendant Meseret Terefe is scheduled to appear before Judge Thomas S. Ellis III Friday morning in federal court in Alexandria to enter a plea in United States vs. Meseret Terefe. Terefe, 36, of Silver Spring, MD, was one of three people arrested in early August accused of stealing at least $400,000 in visitor parking fees collected at the Smithsonian Institution’s Steve F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly. This is the annex of the National Air & Space Museum and home to the Space Shuttle Discovery and other historic aircraft…
