ALDI, the self-described discount grocery store, will hold a ribbon-cutting Thursday and officially open Friday at Sully Plaza in Chantilly at 13920 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway. The spot is the former location of a Shopper's Food Warehouse. To celebrate the opening of its first Chantilly store, ALDI will host a grand opening preview event and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday. Papa Murphy's take-and-bake pizza shop opened at Franklin Farm Village Center in the Herndon area about a month ago and will be celebrating from April 26-29 with a grand opening event. The chain opened in 1981 and has more than 1,200 stores in 37 states, making it the fifth biggest pizza company in the country. The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting with the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce on April 27. The event will include a prize wheel, stick-on tattoos for children and face painting.
