Virginia has produced several $1 million winners and one Powerball jackpot winner. If you draw the Powerball winning numbers in Saturday’s lottery, the one-time payout could be almost $377 million.
After no one picked all five winning numbers and the Powerball, the new Powerball prize for the Saturday, May 19 drawing is an estimated $600 million—the third-largest Powerball prize in the history of the game. Virginia is no stranger to Powerball winners. In addition to several $1 million winners, Dave and Nancy Honeywell of Fredericksburg took a $136 million cash payout in February of this year. A person from Christiansburg won $1 million in Wednesday night's drawing. The one-time cash payout is estimated at $376.9 million. The Powerball jackpot is now up to a mind-blowing $500 million dollars. That's half a billion dollars. Lottery officials say there is a 60 percent (or better) chance that someone will win in Wednesday night’s drawing for the largest Powerball jackpot ever. Tickets are themselves a hot-ticket item.
